March 27 ACCLAIMED LEAVENWORTH ARTIST FEATURED IN LONDON AT THE
RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT MUSEUM SHOWING IN LEAVENWORTH
Up and
coming local artist David Alvarez is planning on doing it again!
Attracting considerable attention for his idea of creating a 10 foot
mosaic of Ray Charles from more than 2,000 post- it notes, David is
back at it. He is unveiling his latest creation right here in
Leavenworth. Using Bicycle Rider Back playing cards, red and blue,
and a 25 foot wall of our local Festhalle, David will transform this
immense wall and thousands of tiny playing cards into a mosaic
portrait of the late, great, Jimi Hendrix. Inspiration and planning
for this project began in November of 2007 An unveiling of this
unique and fun wall of art will be from 4-8pm on Thursday, March 27th
at our Festhalle. This work will not stay at the Festhalle so
come and marvel.
