Arrival of Santa and Holiday Character March!
This year visitors are invited to join in the Arrival of Santa each Saturday & Sunday at 12:00pm by participating in the theme for each weekend!
- Saturday & Sunday, Dec 6-7: Join in a Christmas Lighting tradition and make your own crazy Christmas hat, as Gregg Behounek and his friends have been doing for eight years! This year the theme is “Christmas Trees”!
- Saturday & Sunday, Dec 13-14: Break out your ugliest Christmas sweater and strut your stuff!
- Saturday & Sunday, Dec 20-21: Dress as one of Santa's elves!
Author Jan Brett comes to Leavenworth Sunday, Dec 14!
American author and illustrator Jan Brett (titles include The Mitten, The Hat, and Gingerbread Baby; over 39 million books in print) will visit Leavenworth on Sunday, December 14 for a presentation about her new book, Animal’s Santa! Her presentation will begin at 10:00am, and she will sign autographs following her presentation until 12:00pm. Winter Wonderland Walks!
Join the Wenatchee River Institute on a guided winter tour of Leavenworth's Riverfront Park (on snowshoe if necessary - snowshoes will be provided), and learn about Leavenworth's winter "wild" side! This 30-minute tour ends at WRI's state-of-the-art "barn" with complimentary hot drinks, delicious treats, a holiday art project, and photo opps with festively-dressed live animals! Tours leave the Front Street Gazebo each Saturday of the festival at 1pm and 2pm.
Christmas Story Corner!
Escape the cold and hear a classic Christmas story at the Leavenworth branch of the North Central Library each Saturday of the festival (Dec 6, 13 and 19) at 1:30 and 2:15pm!
Sunday Cookie Crawl!
On Sundays, kids 12 and under can collect free cookies at participating businesses by following the Cookie Crawl map, available in the Leavenworth Visitor Center (940 US Hwy 2, Suite B) or at the Front Street Gazebo.
